QES Community,
We’re excited to see you at fun run on Sunday! We have 200 registered QES participants and a lot of interest across the local community for the vendor fair itself. Remember that even if you didn’t register to run, you can still come and check out our 55 vendors. We will accept registration all the way up through Saturday at 11:59pm online and on-site on the day of. https://qes.givebacks.com/store/items/1104619. All runners must register. If you are lining the course to cheer on a child, you do not need to register, but you must stay outside of the course.
In anticipation of this weekend, we wanted to give you an idea of what to expect.
Fun Run
- Check-in begins at 9:00am. You’ll be given a race bib with a group number, a tshirt if you pre-ordered, and a raffle ticket. You’ll also find out is your child was one of the first 80 kids to register (see below for Kapoo instructions).
- Group Numbers – In order to spread out participants, we’ll be splitting runners into several groups. When your group is called, you’ll head to the track to get ready for the fun run/walk/jog/dance/skip.
- T-shirts – we ordered a handful of extra youth larges and adult smalls above the pre-orders so if you changed your mind about a shirt, you can email us or purchase one of the remaining on Sunday morning. Supplies are limited of course.
- Race refreshments – our sponsors at SAC Soccer and Blue Triton water will be providing snacks and water bottles to all registered fun runners post-race. In order to receive this free refreshment, you must have your race bib on. Only registered participants are allotted these refreshments.
- Kapoo Kids Moonbounce – if your child was one of the 1st 80 kids to register (with or without a tshirt), the PTA pre-paid the $5 fee for all-day access to the moonbounce. Simply provide your child’s name to the Kapoo Kids station and they will receive a wristband.
- Hidden Message Game – find out our hidden messages throughout the course. If you get it right, spin on the wheel of prizes to win an emoji or stuffy or a rubber duck!
- Massage Chair – Columbia Chiropractic is providing free chair massages to anyone with a race bib! You have to race some members of the board though…
Vendor Fair
- We have 56 vendors representing the local Anne Arundel and surrounding counties with a variety of products. You can view the full list at https://qespta.org/event/fun-run-and-vendor-fair/.
- Vendor Bingo – like at Block Party, we’re bringing back Vendor Bingo. Head over to the PTA Table to pick up your card. Fill up the whole card by talking to vendors and having them check-off your card and your child will get a free slurpee coupon from 7-11.
Games and Activities
- Raffle – All registered participants will receive one free raffle ticket at check-in for a chance to win several cool prizes throughout the event. You can purchase additional tickets from the PTA table for $5/ticket or show our vendors some love by showing us a receipt of at least $5 from any of our vendors. Raffles will start at 10:00 and be raffled every half hour until 12:30. You must be present to win.
- Games – we’ll have several games and contests set up throughout the event for the children, in addition to an adults-only limbo contest. The adult winner receives 2 brunch passes to Blackwell Barn and Lodge.
Logistics
- PTA Board Members will have red “ask me” buttons to help you during the event. Volunteers will have stickers – please take a moment to thank our volunteers, this wouldn’t be possible without them!
- Parking – parking is available off of Grover road and out front of the main Severn Run building. Vendors will use the baseball field lots. Please mind the cones.
